For tax consultants

Document software for tax consultants, from SPT season to objections

Every SPT season, client documents arrive by WhatsApp, email and USB stick. In folders.id they land in each client’s folder, AI reads only the folders you allow, and NPWP is masked before any AI sees it.

What you hold

What a tax consultant holds

A client’s finances, with an NPWP or NIK on nearly every page.

Annual and periodic returns

SPT Tahunan and SPT Masa with their attachments and receipts, for every client and every tax year.

Withholding slips and tax invoices

PPh 21 and 23 bukti potong and faktur pajak, which tend to arrive a few at a time and close to the deadline.

Powers of attorney and client data

The surat kuasa, deeds of establishment, directors’ KTP and the taxpayer profile every piece of work rests on.

Tax office letters, objections and appeals

SP2DK, tax assessments and objection or appeal papers, each with its own reply deadline.

What binds you

What you are bound by

A summary, not legal advice. For certainty, read the regulation itself.

The professional code

The Finance Minister’s regulation on tax consultants (PMK 111/PMK.03/2014, as amended) requires consultants to follow their association’s code of ethics and professional standards. IKPI’s code, for one, asks members to keep confidentiality in their practice.

Records kept for ten years

The General Tax Law (UU KUP), Article 28(11), requires taxpayers to keep the books, records and documents behind their bookkeeping for ten years in Indonesia. The duty is the client’s, but the copies often sit in your office.

Personal data in the files

As a data controller, your firm must protect the personal data it processes and prevent unauthorised access (UU 27/2022 on Personal Data Protection, Articles 35 and 39), and record its processing activities (Article 31).

Where folders.id fits

Where folders.id fits in your practice

It does not file anything with the tax office. It is where the working documents live — collected, searchable, and read by AI only where you allow.

  • A tax client template

Each client gets folders for the taxpayer profile, power of attorney, annual and periodic returns, slips and invoices, tax office letters, and objections and appeals.

  • Documents that come to you

Give a client’s folder its own email address, accept WhatsApp files from registered numbers, or send a portal link with a password. Email and WhatsApp intake need setting up first; delivery logs show what arrived and what was refused.

  • Figures from slips, straight into a table

Define columns such as the withholder’s NPWP, tax period and PPh amount. The AI fills them with a quote from the slip, and a correction your staff make is never overwritten.

  • Deadlines that are not missed

Put a reminder on a date column, such as the reply deadline for an SP2DK. The people you choose are told before the date, and a “coming due” card shows on the dashboard.

  • NPWP masked for AI

NIK, NPWP and bank account numbers are masked before any AI receives them, the built-in one included. The AI can still read the return; it never gets the numbers. Every AI access is recorded.

Questions

Questions tax consultants ask

Do clients have to install anything or make an account?

No. A client emails the folder’s address, sends a WhatsApp from a registered number, or opens a portal link. The portal speaks Indonesian by default.

If NPWP is masked, can the AI still fill an NPWP column?

Yes. The model only ever sees the masked number; the real one is put back into the column by its position in the document. A number that cannot be placed exactly is never guessed.

Where are our files stored?

Uploaded files are stored with an Indonesian object-storage provider; the application and its database, including the text read out of documents for search, currently run in Singapore. When an AI reads a document, the content goes to the AI provider you connected and that provider’s policies apply — so you choose the folders, and NPWP is masked first.

Does it connect to Coretax or e-Faktur?

No. folders.id does not submit returns or invoices to the tax office. It is where your working documents are kept, found and shared; filing still goes through the tax office’s own channels.

How is it priced?

There is a free plan with the same permissions and activity record as the paid ones. Plans are not priced per person: each carries storage, file and member limits plus monthly credits for work such as OCR and AI answers.
