Getting to know folders.id.
Can I ask questions without connecting an AI tool?
Yes. Built-in chat lets you ask about your workspace, a folder, or a document, with citations back to the source. Your workspace needs an AI provider configured in Settings. You can save conversations and share threads with your team.
Can I bring files from my existing cloud storage?
Yes. Import or sync selected folders from Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Box. Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, and Box also support two-way sync. You can import supported files from a public URL, too.
Can clients send documents by email or WhatsApp?
When intake channels are configured, you can route email attachments into a folder and route WhatsApp files from registered sender numbers. Delivery logs help you see which files arrived or were refused.
How is it priced?
By the work your documents need rather than the number of people on your team, so a new colleague is never a budgeting decision. Each plan carries storage, file and member limits plus a monthly allowance of credits, which are spent on things that cost real money to do — reading a file, OCR on a scan, an AI answer. The limits are on the pricing page; the amounts in rupiah are being benchmarked and will be published before launch.
What is folders.id?
A workspace for your documents, files, and links. Organize knowledge in folders, share it with your team, and choose which folders your AI tools can access.
Do I need to switch AI tools?
No. Connect a compatible MCP client such as Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, or Cursor. You keep using your preferred AI; folders.id controls which knowledge it can read.
Can I share files with clients?
Yes. Create a client portal to send or collect files. You can set a password, an expiry, and download permissions. Your client does not need a folders.id account.
What happens when I revoke AI access?
The connection is checked on every request, so revoking access blocks the next request. Content already retrieved by your AI remains subject to that provider’s settings and policies.
